Please join us as Community Centers, Inc. presents its  first professional conference.

Keynote speaker:


Joan M. Neveski, LCSW, Clinical Manager,

Center of Youth and Families Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

There will a panel discussion on recognizing trauma in children.

               Recognizing Trauma in children, particular in children you see every day, can be challenging. Yet children in our community deal with trauma too often whether it arises from food insecurity, immigration fears, financial instability, loss of parent or just sheer anxiety. This conference will focus on how to identify trauma symptoms in children and ways to address them. 

Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided!

CE credits 3  Will be availbale fot CT State Licensed CT Social Workers only and will require 3 hours minimun to qualify (not including lunch time). Certificates will be mailed after conference.

Every day children are exposed to trauma, the logistica includes but not limited to:

  • Sexual abuse 
  • chronic neglect

  • loss of parents/caregivers
  • cultural and social challenges

Trauma exposure can impair development, learning, relationships, and physical and mental healt in young children.  Our Keynote speaker, Joan M. Necveski will be addressing, the impact of trauma on children, raising awareness; securing a safe base; creating a healing enviroment.

Local agency leaders and service providers will disscus recognizing trauma symptoms and offer inputs and solutions.
