Two-Day VIRTUAL Racial Equity Workshop
July 8-9, 2021 | 9 AM-5 PM

Racial Equity Institute (REI) training is designed to build the capacity of leaders to understand and positively impact racial inequities and disparities in our community. This two-day workshop will help participants better understand racism in its institutional and structural forms. Moving away from a focus on personal bigotry and bias, this workshop presents a historical, cultural, and structural analysis of racism, helping all of us to find a more authentic narrative about race in our communities and country.

Racial Equity Training is intended for those who want to dismantle racism. It has found tremendous success in communities across North Carolina and the country by providing information, analysis, and conversation that helps participants gain clarity about the historical roots and modern-day manifestations of racial inequity. Why? So that we can more honestly address the challenges of institutional racism in our own communities. With shared language and a clearer understanding of how institutions and systems are producing unjust and inequitable outcomes, participants should leave the training better equipped to begin to work for change.

During the pandemic, we've moved the two-day workshops online into a format that enables us to gather remotely. These in-depth trainings include large group instruction, guided discussion, and group activities in Zoom breakout rooms. After you register, a Zoom meeting link will be sent to your email a couple days before the workshop. Be sure to download the Zoom app onto the device you plan to use for the webinar.
