Math in the Real World (Grades 6-12)

How many times have your students asked you, “When am I going to use this in real life?” In this workshop, we will introduce you to several resources that will help you relate math and personal finance lessons to real issues facing your students. Math in the Real World, an online resource available on EconEdLink.org, brings together the expertise of math teachers and economics teachers to create interdisciplinary lessons that teach important personal finance and economic concepts in the context of math lessons. We will also explore CEE’s signature personal finance curriculum, Financial Fitness for Life, which includes lessons on earning income, money management, saving, spending and credit.

Starting in January 2018 we will no longer provide copies of materials at workshops. All materials will be sent in PDF files via email.  You will need to print out the materials and bring them to the workshop.  All evaluations and certificates will be sent via email after the workshop. You will have to complete and submit the evaluation in order to receive your certificate of completion for CTLE
