14th Annual Tribal Gathering
of Conscious Dancers
July 27-29, 2018
This event has Soul'd Out. Registration is Closed.

Our experience of life is determined by nothing so much as where we choose to devote our time, attention and energy. We can be devoted to many things -  the earth, our families, spiritual beliefs, an idea, a practice. The areas that receive the lion’s share of our time, attention, and energy become places of deep devotion which define our lives. Our 14th Annual Gathering is an invitation to pause, move with, and deeply consider your devotions.

In Dance of Devotion we delve into movement practices as pathways that illuminate where and how we place our attention. Bringing our devotions to consciousness empowers us to choose life-paths that foster wholeness, healing, love, and light. The best vehicle for such an exploration is the body. So we put the body in motion, give it breath, and release it to the beat, for “the soft animal of the body will love what it loves;” and in that loving reveals where our true devotions lay.

Set right in the heart of summer, the weekend features five amazing movement teachers, each offering a unique session that embraces the Dance of Devotion. Our Gathering is composed of embodied dancers from around the world and a fabulous catered, outdoor dinner. Join new friends and old, for a remarkable weekend of movement and discovery!

Mati Vargas-Gibson

Mati created BodySpirit Dance as a container for moving with the sacred in all aspects of life through dance, ritual, ceremony, and art. She began the shamanic dancing path in 1998 under the tutelage of Gabrielle Roth & The Moving Center Faculty, and has been a Certified and Accredited 5Rhythms® Teacher since 2008. Mati creates dancing and ceremonial spaces where everyone can dive into freedom of movement to still the mind, enter sacred time, and awaken joy, spontaneity, and moving prayer. In movement we gather beyond our usual social frameworks and experience meeting ourselves and others intimately, movement to movement, dance to dance, soul to soul, becoming witness to the essential being in everyone. She currently offers 5Rhythms® classes, workshops and one-on-one sessions, as well as women’s ritual groups, and seasonal, public ceremonial rituals in Dallas, Mexico, and internationally.

Trudes Tango - Open Floor

Trudes is a dancer, a potter, a Sacred Intimate, and a teacher of Open Floor movement practice. She has been dancing with passionate curiosity for over 13 years, and she believes healing and transformation happens through the body.  Using conscious movement, ritual, art, touch, and sacred play, Trudes helps others deepen their connection to their own bodies and expand their capacity for intimacy. She believes embodiment practices cannot be separated from social justice issues, and she recognizes the privilege she holds in being able to do this work.

Lawyer and mediator by day. Open Floor teacher and dancer by night.  I'm passionate about new ways of moving our minds and our bodies, and creating supportive spaces for whatever is arising moment to moment. I also like to encourage playfulness and a sense of humour on the dance floor as in life.

Ronny Temple - 5Rhythms
Ronny is a certified 5Rhythms Teacher with a wide breadth of experience in movement meditation and leadership that serves him well as he holds and guides OlyWaves. He is a published author in several genres, successful business owner, strategic planner, world traveler, and master sailor. His most salient experiences though are in the realm of meditation and spirit. Curiosity and compassion eventually led him to people like Krishnamurti, whom he met in the early eighties, and to Osho Rajneesh with whom he practiced meditations such as Vipassana, Sufi Whirling, and Kundalini for nearly two decades in India as well as the U.S. Ronny fell in love with the 5Rhythms practice around 2003 and ten years later is still in the honeymoon phase. A cross between a wise man and a wise guy (OK, a bit more the latter than the former), Ronny focuses on nurturing a light heart on and off the dance floor. His teachings have a decidedly Tantric (meaning, in this context, holistic) flavor to them.
