Skip Kincaid

Skip Kincaid is an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist (MW-0155BM) with over 30 years of urban forestry, arboriculture, and forestry experience. He provides governments, businesses, utilities, attorneys, architects, and engineers with the performance of tree risk assessments; tree appraisals/forensics; storm damage assessment projects; tree preservation plans on construction sites; urban forestry master plans; ordinance writing; and expert witness testimony.

Skip currently holds positions as the Executive Director of the ISA Southern Chapter and the Director of Urban Forestry for Hansen’s Tree Service & Environmental Wood Resources in O’Fallon, Missouri and provides a wide range of consulting services.

Skip served for four years on the International Society of Arboriculture’s (ISA) panel of experts that developed the Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) and has taught the 2½ day course over 60 times. His expertise is utilized by attorneys as an expert witness and he has testified at depositions and trials in many states.

Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) Renewal - Waco 

Registration Deadline is September 1, 2021 and Class Size is Limited to 30

The TRAQ Renewal Course is a one-day refresher, with five hours of instruction, and three hours to take the exam. Current TRAQ holders can complete the course as early as three and one-half (3 1/2) years into their Qualification (18 months before your expiration date). Once your current expiration date passes, you will need to retake the full course and assessement to be reinstated. 

Once you have successfully passed the renewal requirements, you will be given five (5) years from the date of your previous expiration allowing you to take full advantage of the five-year period granted with the credential.

Your instructor for this event will be Skip Kincaid.

You will review:
   -   Levels of assessment
   -   Target assessment
   -   Site assessment
   -   Tree biology and mechanics
   -  Tree inspection and assessment
   -   Data analysis and risk categorizaion
   -   Mitigation
   -   Reporting

Included in your registration:
 -   course registration
 -   exam fee
 -   the TRAQ renewal manual (shipped via UPS to the address you provide (No PO Boxes)
 -   the TRAQ renewal workbook (handed out at the class)

coffee and breakfast items

lunch, beverages and snacks for the day

Travel and lodging is on your own.

What is required to bring to the class:
 - government issued photo ID
 - TRAQ Manual (shipped via UPS to the address you provide)
 - PPE - hard hat, high visiblity vest or shirt, closed toe shoes (required)
 - #2 pencils and clipboard for taking notes and completing worksheets
 - rain gear, including a large ziplock bag (just in case!)
 - 
come prepared to spend part of the day outdoors
 - 
please dress for your comfort level indoors and outdoors; 
    we cannot always control the room 
temperature to suit everyone

Retaking the Examination

There is a $150 USD fee per retake up to one year from the original date that you took the course. Applications for retake must be submitted prior to the registration deadline for the scheduled course where you will retake your exam. You must phone ISA to schedule a retake.
  

Cancellation Policy

If an ISA TRAQ registrant cancels before ISA sends training materials, the registrant will get a full refund. The ship date is September 1,2021 If an ISA TRAQ registrant cancels after the ship date (9/1), for medical, or other reason out of their control, ISAT will work with the registrant.

Please note we will work with you as much as possible as we do not want you to attend if you have tested positive for COVID or have come into contact with someone who tested positive within 2 weeks of the course.  Cancellation requests must be emailed to gene@isatexas.com. Please do not just be a "No Show".
