Samueli Institute's 10th Anniversary Reception: Creating the Future of Healing

“Celebrating 2011. Envisioning 2021: Creating the future of healing”

It’s 2011 and Samueli Institute is celebrating its first decade of exploring the science of healing. Starting as a small 2-person, grant-making non-profit in 2001, the Institute has grown into the premier non-profit organization that researches and investigates the world of healing and wellness, including complementary, alternative and integrative health care and the ways in which it can transform the health care industry as we know it. Our research, and the research done by our partners, has brought about such major contributions as the Wellness Initiative for the Nation, a version of which was included in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010; Total Force Fitness, which is already redefining health care in the military; and the upcoming formation of our Knowledge Translation Service, which will translate our knowledge of Optimal Healing Environments out of evidence-based research and into practice for hospitals and businesses across the country.

On October 4, 2011, Samueli Institute will launch its next decade of exploration alongside all of our Friends and Partners with a Celebratory Reception at the Torpedo Factory in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.  There will be heavy hors d'oeuvres, music, interactive art, and a brief presentation led by the Institute's President and CEO, Dr. Wayne B. Jonas.

We hope you can join us for what promises to be a truly memorable evening!
