Its mission is to restore and protect Boston Harbor, Massachusetts Bay and the marine environment for the enjoyment of everyone in the region. The Boston Foundation played a key role in the cleanup of Boston Harbor and was "There at the Beginning" with critical early support for Save the Harbor/Save the Bay, which is the region's leading voice for continued public investment in Boston Harbor, the Harbor islands and the region's public beaches.
