Hot Runner Maintenance & Repair Certification Training - August 2014

Hot Runner Maintenance & RepairThrough this course, attendees will learn how various hot runner systems function and the critical areas of each. Attendees will troubleshoot, document and map out several manifold systems using an ohmmeter (supplied) while learning about Ohm’s Law and how it is applied during heater inspection.

Attendees will also learn how to review manifold histories then completely disassemble, clean, inspect, document and reassemble a multi-cavity valve gate and fixed gate system and learn how to determine what elements of the manifold should be included in setting up a PM program.

In addition, common issues will be discussed and useful bench techniques will be taught that include:
 -  Performance and maintenance characteristics of several popular brands of hot runner
    systems used today.

 -  Working safely on hot manifolds.

 -  Disassembly, cleaning and assembly techniques used at the bench.

 -  Typical problems created through bad work habits - when to utilize extreme care.

 -  Wiring how-to, splices, repairs, resistance checking, heater size verification, and replacement.

In our Hot Runner Maintenance and Repair Certification course, mold repair technicians will learn solid hot runner maintenance principles that can be applied immediately from instructors with decades of bench experience in the caring and feeding of hot runner tools. And, they will learn and practice these hands-on bench techniques in a controlled, safe and state-of the art shop.
