FASD 101 is a 2.5 hour introductory workshop that aims to increase understanding of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), its new diagnostic guidelines, and promising interventions for people with FASD.
This training explains FASD, the challenges associated with the condition, working from a strengths perspective and discusses effective strategies.
About the trainer:
Kate Winsor is a graduate student at Memorial University, her research interests include young offenders with FASD, their experiences in the criminal justice system, and the role of FASD in juvenile justice decision making. Kate works for fasdNL Network - working with individuals with FASD, their parents, caregivers & advocates to address gaps in support across Newfoundland & Labrador. Kate is also a parent of children with FASD.
