FLAGS Active Support Unit at Pride Cymru 2016 

Pride Cymru is Wales' largest annual celebration of equality and diversity.

The Pride Cymru Parade will return for its fifth year running, bigger, better, and more colourful than ever through Cardiff City Centre! The parade will kick start the Pride festival celebrations on Saturday 13th August 2016, outside Pulse on Churchill Way. Final registrationtakes place from 10:30am and the parade will step off at 11am.

This year FLAGS Active Support Unit are proud to not only be taking pride in the parade through the city centre, but will also be running four activity bases in the family zone, and also manning a stall promoting Scouting to people from across Wales. We need volunteers for all the elements of the day, and are looking for anyone over 16 to get involved.

The Parade:-

We will be taking part in the Pride Cymru parade through the centre of Cardiff on Saturday 13th August. The parade starts at 11.00 at Churchill way, and we will be meeting at Starbucks at 125/139 Queen Street (Next to Saisnburys). The parade will be a carnival atmopshere with us cheer, and promoting Scout Pride to those watching the parade. We will also be giving out stickers and balloons to encourage people to learn more about Scouting. We are looking for Scouts of all ages to get involved. Please note under 14’s must be with their parent or guardian. Explorers will need to have permission from their parents to take part. The parade will finish at 12.00 at Coopers Field were participants will be able to enter the field. Please note you will need tickets to enter the field. The Family Zone:-

This year for the first time we have been asked to run a number of activities in the family zone to help entertain young people and their parents. We will be running a traverse wall, garden games, rope making, and activities from Dementia Friends. In order to deliver this exciting opportunity we need a group of volunteers to run activities from around 12.00 - 17.00. We will also be manning a stall where we will be able to talk to young people and their parents about volunteering. At the stall we will be giving away freebies, inviting people to complete a quiz, and also signing people up to volunteer. We would be really grateful of anytime people are willing to give. We will have limitied number of free wristbands for those who volunteer to help. We are looking for young leaders, and adult volunteers to help us with activities in the family zone.

Eleni, am y tro cyntaf rydym wedi cael cais i gynnal nifer o weithgareddau yn y parth teulu i helpu i ddiddanu pobl ifanc a'u rhieni. Byddwn yn cynnal wal Traverse, gemau gardd, gwneud rhaffau, a gweithgareddau o Dementia Cyfeillion. Er mwyn cyflawni cyfle cyffrous hwn, mae angen grp o wirfoddolwyr i gynnal gweithgareddau o tua 12.00-17.00. Byddwn hefyd yn cael ei staffio stondin lle y byddwn yn gallu siarad â phobl ifanc a'u rhieni am wirfoddoli. Ar y stondin, byddwn yn rhoi i ffwrdd freebies, gan wahodd pobl i gwblhau cwis, a hefyd yn arwyddo pobl i wirfoddoli. Byddem yn ddiolchgar iawn o unrhyw adeg bobl yn barod i roi. Bydd gennym nifer limitied o bandiau arddwrn rhad ac am ddim ar gyfer y rhai sy'n gwirfoddoli i helpu. Rydym yn chwilio am arweinwyr ifanc, ac oedolion sy'n gwirfoddoli i'n helpu gyda gweithgareddau yn y parth teulu.
