That said, there are many financing products available to entrepreneurs and companies. Learn when, and how, to seek them out in this workshop.

Whether you are starting a new business or expanding an existing one, finding the necessary financing can be a challenge.  This workshop provides important information on the potential sources of financing as well as techniques for increasing your likelihood of success.

You probably will start with your own resources and then seek help from family or friends.  Learn the difference between a gift, a loan and an investment and why it matters.  Learn what to document in the process.

Seeking a grant or SBA guarantee?  Learn where to look, the conditions and requirements and whether matching funds may be necessary. What about MTI? Is a grant or development award a possibility for your business?  

Going to the bank?  Learn when, and how, to approach a bank with a loan application. Learn the five “C’s” of bank lending that underwriters use to approve or disapprove loan applications. Learn how credit enhancements can strengthen your loan application.

Thinking about attracting investors?  Learn what investors typically look for and what it means to take on an investor. Learn about the “exit strategy”.  Learn whether "crowd funding" makes sense for your business.  Learn whether or not you can "bootstrap" your business.
