Lunch Bytes - Employment Law: Hiring, Firing and other Landmines

Cost of Lunch Bytes 1 hour mini - workshop is $10.00 with online registration.

The Hiring, Firing and other Employment Law Landmines Workshop will teach you how to start on the right foot with a new employee by asking appropriate questions at the interview and offer stages.  It will also help prepare you for the unfortunate scenario in which you have to terminate an employee.  There are always risks associated with employment termination; however, an employer can mitigate these risks with proper planning, documentation, and delivery.  The Workshop will help answer some key employment law questions, including:

  • Should I hire an employee or use an independent contractor (a “1099”)?
  • What questions can I ask during an interview?
  • Should I conduct a background check before hiring?
  • How do I pay my employees (hourly or salary)?
  • How do I fire an employee if he or she is not working out?

If you're a small sized business thinking about hiring your first employee or a medium sized business expanding your workforce, this is a Lunch Bytes workshop that you can't afford to miss!
