Better Angels is a national program frounded by David Blankenhorn, a Repuglican. Its work has taken it across the country and Better Angels workshops been featured in the July 2017 Washington Post and Washington Times.
Better Angels Skills Training fosters interpersonal conversation across a deep political divide.The program's name comes from Lincoln's Gettysburg Address "We are not enemies, but friends. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection."
Participants will get to learn and practice skills for respectful conversation - not confrontation.
The program seeks to enhance civil civic engagement with the goal of building bridges based on honest and constructive discourse.
All in a friendly and welcoming environment. (Including refreshments!)
The training will be led by the Rev. Joani Peacock, Emmanuel's Priest Associate and the Rev. Byron Buck, Assistant at Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C.
Whether you identity primarily as "Red" or "Blue" or "Other", all are welcome!
