Answering the Questions about Assistive Technology & Employment

What is Assistive Technology? How can it be a support for employment? Where do I start? Answering these questions and many more questions about Assistive Technology (AT) is the focus of this unique training opportunity. This four-hour training will include the fundamentals of AT, as well as provide a hands-on demonstration of over 25 devices!

Participants will leave with the renewed passion and confidence to support individuals in recognizing opportunities for AT use, pre-assessing for device implementation, and identifying resources for loaning and obtaining devices. Case scenarios will be utilized to practice skills and individual support will be available to ensure each participant is prepared for AT questions.

An AT Maker opportunity will be provided at the end of the training for one-hour. Each participant will create a Do It Yourself (DIY) version of a cell phone holder. Each session will include guest attendees of local Assistive Technology and vocational supports from the community.
