Purpose

The first annual Great Big JAM is a fun event for children, parents and grandparents. The JAM promotes family literacy by featuring story-telling and a performance by Eric Litwin,  #1 New York Times bestselling author of Pete the Cat and The Nuts, and great activities for kids including crafts, balloon artists and face painters. Kids are invited to wear their favorite pajamas, enjoy breakfast and engage in philanthropy by bringing a pair of new pajamas for a disadvantaged young child served by ChildCareGroup.

Performer

Eric Litwin is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes and  three follow-up adventures. He is also the author of the new musical series The Nuts. Eric performs all over the world and is a popular keynote speaker on interactive literacy. He is also co-founder of the Learning Groove.

Beneficiary

Most importantly, the Great Big JAM benefits ChildCareGroup, a nonprofit organization providing safe, quality, early childhood education for the youngest and neediest children in Dallas County. For 114 years, ChildCareGroup has been delivering affordable early care and education programs so parents can work or attend school and lift their families out of poverty. We touch the lives of more than 40,000 children, parents and early childhood teachers every year. Donations, sponsorships, and volunteer support for the Great Big JAM are vital to our mission.
