In this conversation we will map Kathleen's unique pathway to group leadership including important mentors as well as significant clinical and training experiences.
We will also will mine her leadership wisdom, acquired during many years of working in both hospital and community settings. We are particularly curious about her recipe for blending education and activity while simultaneously facilitating a dynamic group process.
BIO: Kathleen Ryan has had a long career advocating for and running groups in hospital and community settings. As an occupational therapist, she has led a wide variety of groups from activity based to psycho-education to psychotherapy groups. She is committed to making group therapy meaningful and accessible for all populations. Kathleen recognizes the artful dance between process and content inherent in successful psycho-educational groups.
Now semi-retired, she uses her understanding of group dynamics and her wealth of expertise to support a wide range of groups in her home community of Calgary Alberta.
