ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Ricky Magee is the Director of Technical Services and Quality Systems for Aditya Birla Carbon (formerly Columbian Chemicals Company). In this role, he is responsible for interfacing with Birla Carbon’s customers to develop technical solutions to enhance product performance and to work with their manufacturing sites to ensure world-class quality products.

A major portion of Magee’s career was focused on the management of Birla Carbon’s Global Technology Laboratory where he spent more than 25 years. This multifaceted facility provides material science, analytical, and applications information in support of product development, quality assurance, and technical service for carbon black. The Global Technology Laboratory houses a world-class electron microscopy facility, a discipline that Birla Carbon has been a global leader in since 1940. Magee assumed his current role in 2010.

Magee is actively involved with ASTM where he served on the Board of Directors from 2010 to 2012, and also served as Chairman of the Carbon Black committee and various subcommittee officer positions. Magee has received ASTM’s Award of Merit and accompanying title of fellow and also their Distinguished Service Award.
