Trauma Informed Care

A Two Part Training

Go to any conference in the human service world and you can’t help but hear the buzz (or roar) about trauma-informed care. This series will teach participants to embed trauma-informed principles and practices in the very fabric of their organization and to support a wider trauma-informed community.

#1 - Leadership's Role in Becoming a Trauma-Informed Organization and How You Know You’re Getting There

Wednesday, March 6, 2019
Registration: 8:30am; Program 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Delaney House, 3 Country Club Road, Holyoke

Becoming a trauma-informed organization is more than having an all-day staff trauma training, training clinicians in a trauma treatment model, or adding trauma screening questions at intake. It requires commitment and buy-in at the highest level. This workshop will focus on the role of senior and executive leadership in trauma-informed change and how you can assess if your investment of resources are making a difference on measurable outcomes. It will also feature a panel of leaders from organizations that are making the challenging change to trauma-informed care.

#2 - What Is Trauma-Informed Care....Really? Going Beyond the Buzzword

Wednesday, March 27, 2019
Registration: 8:30am; Program 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Delaney House, 3 Country Club Road, Holyoke

As awareness increases about the prevalence and profound impact of trauma, it’s harder for organizations to ignore the critical importance of becoming a trauma-informed organization. Yet, many struggle to understand what that means and where to start. This workshop will help human service professionals in a variety of positions understand the “why, what, and how” of trauma-informed care and explore its relevance to their setting and clients. It will provide direct care staff, administrators, and supervisors, the tools needed to foster trauma-sensitive behavior and support a trauma-informed organization.

This series is designed as a training opportunity for 2 different staff members.  Session 1 is for executive level leadership and session 2 is for supervisors, managers, administrators, and direct care providers.  When registering for both sessions, please make sure you list both staff.
