The City of Renton is currently under construction building the new Kennydale 320PZ Reservoir. The 1.3 MG reservoir has a 50-ft diameter and will stand over 100-ft above the ground. Murrsaysmith, Inc was selected as the consulting engineering firm for the reservoir design, represents the City for the construction of the reservoir, and has designed the offsite improvements required for the pressure zone changes to some of the Kennydale residents. This work includes additional water main installation and pressure reducing vault to be added to the City water system.
The tour of the Kennydale Reservoir will begin with a short discussion lead by Murraysmith. Peterson Structural Engineers will be on hand to discuss the some of the structural details regarding the reservoir design, and HWA will be present to lead a discussion on the foundation system and the auger-cast pile installation.
There are no facilities for classroom presentations. This is an active construction site Personal Protection Equipment is required: Hardhat, vest, eye protection, and sturdy boots.
Parking is available in the vacant lot across the street in front of the fire station.
After the tour, Murraysmith will host food and beverages at Four Generals Brewing (229 Wells Ave S, Renton, WA 98057) for those who are interested. Four Generals has open seating available, and Murraysmith will open a tab for attendees of this event.
