Biennial Convention

Join us at our Pastor's Gathering and Biennial Convention at Community Bible Church in Olathe, KS to hear what God is doing among our district churches. 

Convention speakers will be from among our own pastors and leaders. We will celebrate the ministry of our conference churches and look forward to what God will do in and through us in the future. Stay connected to the SDC website as we near the event!

PASTOR'S GET-TOGETHER

This year the Pastor's Get-Together, which begins Thursday July 25, is a complimentary event for our credentialled pastors, their spouses and other invited guests. Click here! for the Pastor's Get-Together schedule.

Randy Gariss will be the speaker at the Pastor's Get Together. Randy Gariss is the Director of the Life and Ministry Preparation Center at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri. CONVENTION

Our 2019 biennial Convention is on Friday, July 26 to Saturday, July 27. The first session begins at 4:30pm. Click here! for the Convention schedule.

Registration is $40/per person for all delegates and guests, and $15 per youth or child. Registration includes meals, convention materials and activities. For those families with more than three children attending, any additional children as well as those under 3 years of age may attend with no fee.

Childcare is provided on site for all sessions. Loving care, stories, games, crafts and activities will be enjoyed by all the children. For nursery age children, please bring a stroller for walks around the grounds. Children and youth will meet together for their own sessions including Bible study, games and activities.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Guests should make their own accommodations. A list of hotels and rates has been provided for your convenience - click here!

In addition, several Community Bible Church members have kindly opened their homes to host families for the duration of the event. There is an option on the registration form to notify us if you would like to stay with a host family.

ROYALS GAME

Following the end of the Convention on Saturday, July 27, there is a Royals game at Kauffman Stadium that evening. It is Faith & Family night at the K with a special performance by Christian recording artist, Matthew West, following the ball game. There will be a section of seats available for those from the Southern District. 

Tickets are $35 per person. If you would like to purchase tickets in advance for your family, please select the registration option that includes "Royals Baseball Game" in addition to your choice for the Pastor's Gathering and Convention. Please be aware that parking at the stadium is $15. Please email Logan at office@sdcmb.org if you have questions regarding the Royals game.

Community Bible Church invites you to worship with them on Sunday morning, July 28, if you are staying in the KC area.

MISSION SOUTHSIDE

Community Bible Church wanted to highlight an opportunity to see how the gospel is reaching different parts of Kansas City. CBC is offering to take guests on a "windshield tour” with Mission Southside.  Mission Southside is a local missions group who partners with local churches and strategically reaches out to under-privileged neighborhoods with help, support, and the gospel.  One of the ways they inform people about their mission is take them on “windshield tours,” where guests would ride on the Mission Southside-owned bus around to several of the neighborhood sites where they have active ministries.

CBC/Mission Southside tour (12:30 on Friday) would provide lunch and all those who sign up could go on the tour to learn how Mission Southside are reaching people for Jesus by "putting God's love into action by extending help and hope." If you would like to participate in the windshield tour of Mission Southside, there will be a registration table at Convention.

REGISTRATION

To register online, click the button at the bottom of this page.  On the form you can register yourself and up to eight others - look for the blue "Add" button under Guest Information. 

PLEASE NOTE: Have all your information ready before you begin to register. Once you begin the registration form, you must complete all information for your registration to be completed.  If you exit before completion, you will not be able to go back and complete the information and you will not be able to register again except with a different email address.
