Andrew Carnegie Comes To Life At Storrs Library
Andrew Carnegie was a business magnate, philanthropist and steel industry tycoon. He was also a major supporter of public libraries, building more than 2500 libraries worldwide and 1700 in the United States alone. On Tuesday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m. “Andrew Carnegie” will launch the adult summer reading program “Groundbreaking Reads” at Storrs Library, 693 Longmeadow St., Longmeadow, MA. Actor Richard Clark will portray Andrew Carnegie in a play entitled Great Scot! It’s Andrew Carnegie! Clark has more than 30 years of theatrical experience in New York and New England. This performance, part of a series called Keeping History Alive, is made possible by the generous support of the Friends of Storrs Library.
