Paul Rubin and Julie Casson Rubin
Paul Rubin, Feldenkrais Teacher and Trainer, is a graduate of the 1975 – 77 Feldenkrais Professional Teacher Training in San Francisco conducted by Dr. Moshé Feldenkrais. During this period, Dr. Feldenkrais also supervised Paul’s academic studies at the Humanistic Psychology Institute.
Executive Director and founder of the not for profit Institute for the Study of Somatic Education (ISSE) since 1992, Paul has been co-Educational Director of Certification Trainings for Feldenkrais Teacher/Practitioners in Cincinnati, Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, Australia, Switzerland, and Italy. ISSE has graduated over 500 Feldenkrais Teachers worldwide.
As Chair of the North American Training Accreditation Board (TAB) 1993-1997 and founding member of the Training Accreditation Boards for both Europe and Australia/South Pacific, Paul has contributed significantly to the international evolution of training programs and training curriculum worldwide.
Julie Casson Rubin trained directly with Dr. Moshé Feldenkrais graduating from his first North American training. For the past 35 years, Julie has kept a full private practice in San Francisco while also teaching in Feldenkrais teacher training programs, continuing education courses for health providers and educators including practicing Feldenkrais Teachers. Julie has been co-educational director of all ISSE training programs in the U.S., Australia and Europe. Julie was instrumental in bringing the Method into use at the San Francisco General Hospital, University of California, San Francisco in its pioneering Behavioral Medicine Clinic from 1979 and in Health Education programs at Kaiser Permanente in the early 1990’s.

Theme: Advanced Work Through the Head and Neck
with Functional Integration® and Awareness Through Movement®
Dates: July 4th - 7th (4 days) Second Option: July 4th - 8th (5 days)
We are pleased and excited to announce that Paul Rubin and Julie Casson Rubin will be offering an advanced workshop for Practitioners this summer in Canada.
Understanding the relationship of the head and neck to the entire spine, to breathing, to the pelvis, to the hip joints, knees and feet, is the key to practising Functional Integration at our highest level.
The skeleton, musculature, organs, our processes of perception, and all of their inter-relationships affect the individual, sometimes leading to discomfort. Improving our ability to view and sense our client through these sub-
systems, separately and in combination, will move our practice to a deeper level of proficiency.
We will use carefully selected Awareness Through Movement® lessons, lecture and audio visual presentations, and much time dedicated to Functional Integration® practice to move each participant forward to their next level of understanding and skill.
This training will combine two elements: a four-day training as described above plus the option for a fifth day of study and practice for those who wish to go more deeply into the subject.
The fifth day will:
- start with an ATM® on our theme open to the public,
- be followed by an FI® demonstration with a subject from the public,
- include discussion of the FI® as an example of our theme,
- continue with FI® instruction and practice
- finish with an ATM®
We believe in providing a safe and challenging atmosphere where practising teachers can bring their questions and show what they do not know so that each can take home their own next steps in practice.
A limited Number of FI®s with Paul and Julie will be available. To book an FI in advance, contact Paul or Julie directly.
Audio and Visual recordings of the training will be available for purchase for workshop participants

Cancellations
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing and postmarked prior to June 1st, 2013. A processing fee of $50. will be charged for all refunds. No refunds will be given after June 15th.
