GHIN Handicap Registration 

EWGA Albany/Capital Region encourages members to establish and maintain a handicap index. You must have an up-to-date handicap index to play in certain EWGA leagues, and to compete in the Chapter Championship. This event organizes competitors in flights, so your handicap enables you to compete only with players at a similar ability level.

To obtain or renew your USGA GHIN handicap index, fill out the form at the link below and pay $18 via PayPal or mail a check to the Chapter. You must renew annually through EWGA by April 30 to remain an active player in the GHIN system. (If you miss this date, you can still re-up any time but may be listed temporarily as "inactive.")

You also can transfer your index to EWGA from another provider by using your existing GHIN ID number. New applicants may sign up at any time.

To establish a handicap you must enter five 18-hole scores, or the equivalent in combined 9-hole scores. Once you have your index, be sure to post all scores, good and bad, to ensure it is an accurate reflection of you current golf skills. And when you post a 9-hole score, be sure to indicate it's only 9, not 18!
