Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO) Certification 

The Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO) course is the only comprehensive program covering the entire HUD Handbook 4350.3 including the latest revisions. Each participant receives an updated version of this Handbook in the course. An extensive course manual with 31 chapters covers topics from eligibility criteria, standards, tenant selection and screening to non-discrimination, allowances, adjusted income, certifying, tenants and annual recertification. Each chapter is followed by a mini quiz with an opportunity for, questions. Evening optional review sessions are offered. After this three-day CPO course, managers will have mastered using the HUD Handbook effectively. After completing the  interactive instruction, participants must pass a rigorous one-half day exam (multiple choice and case study) to become certified CPOs. Gwen Volk is an approved NAHMA instructor for this course. The CPO is a requirement for NAHMA’s NAHP designation program. All participants who successfully complete the course will receive a CPO certificate and lapel pin.

This 20-hours virtual course will follow the 3-Day CPO agenda and is composed of four 5-hour interactive Zoom meeting training sessions and a take home four hour certification exam that must be taken within three weeks of completing the course.  Each participant will recieve meeting credentials prior to the course. 

Online CPO Exam: At the end of the course you will recieve a voucher number and can take the four hour open book exam at your conveinience but within three weeks of completing the course.  Take the exam at a time and place that works for you and no proctor is required.  you will recieve voucher number and instructions on how to log in to the website that hosts the exam following the course.  Students are notified immediately of their test results. 

MAHMA Cancellation Policy: All cancellations must be recieved in writing no less than five business days prior to the course. No shows will be billed.  Substitutions are welcome.
