Join us in beautiful Goa, India in October for ADCPs in Action in India!

On behalf of Teledyne RD Instruments (TRDI), the National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR- NIO), and ASB Systems, it is our pleasure to invite you to the first ADCPs in Action in India (AIAII) to be held from Oct 17 to 19 2012 in Goa, India.                    

This marks the first time this event is being hosted in India as a component of TRDI’s Global AiA initiative.  There is no charge to attend this event, which will bring ADCP (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler)  users from across the country together to discuss applications, exchange ideas, and learn about new and innovative uses of ADCPs.  The 3rd day of this event will also cover Teledyne RDI's Doppler Velocity Logs (DVLs) for precision underwater navigation onboard subsea and surface vessels as well as diver platforms.

Experts from TRDI will provide hardware / software demonstrations, as well as workshops on best practices for instrument deployment, recovery and data analysis.

AiAiI will take place at NIO-Goa, a premier research institute and one among the 37 constituent laboratories of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Govt . of  India  and  caters to the needs of the country for both basic and applied research. Established on 1 January 1966, the institute has grown in size and  has about 200 scientists and 100 technical support staff and equal number of students and project staff. The major research areas include the four traditional branches of oceanography - biological, chemical, geological/geophysical, and physical Oceanography.

Call for Speakers!

ADCPs in Action in India is seeking high quality presentations on applications for ADCPs in new, interesting  or continuously  successful situations. Presentation times of 20 minutes with 10 minutes for questions will be alotted to share your ideas with our delegates.

Please submit your request to present to Gopa Williams gopa@asbsystems.net.  We would appreciate if the subject of the presentation / abstract paper is received by 10 September 2012. The full presentation may be submitted by the end of September 2012.
