Business Plans That Stand Out

Today, business plans ­ whether they are for a program or a social enterprise ­ are becoming a must-have in the nonprofit sector instead of something that's just nice to have. A well-written plan can make the difference in securing the necessary funding and interest.

This session will break down the process into simple and easy-to-follow steps for you to right-size a business plan for your needs AND your organization, program or social enterprise. It will include an in-depth discussion of the best process and outline to follow as well as how to stand out from the crowd.

This class is one of our longstanding favorites. Past participants have called it a "mini-MBA" because it covers a wide range of important business topics.

• Differentiate between needs and requirements for a business prospectus, business canvas and business plan.
• Use a step-by-step process to develop and write a business plan.
• Make their organization's business plan/prospectus stand out.

Early Bird Nonprofit Rate (through Nov. 20, 2018): $45
Nonprofit rate (after Nov. 20, 2018): $55 
Market rate (applies to for-profit agencies): $300 per person (Rates include breakfast and lunch)

Cancellation Policy

Participants who register for the workshop and do not attend or offer a replacement will be charged a $300 cancellation fee. Participants who cancel their registration on or before 5PM ET on Tuesday Nov. 27, 2018 will have the fee waived. The Presenter 

Suzanne Smith (@snstexas) Founded Social Impact Architects in 2009 to reshape the business of social change. She combines her MBA know-how with two decades of experience as a nonprofit innovator to serve as a consultant, adviser and thought partner. She is also an educator and a sought-after public speaker at conferences nationwide. She has been recognized with the Next Generation Social Entrepreneur Award by the Social Enterprise Alliance. Suzanne writes the Social TrendSpotter (@socialtrendspot) blog and has had articles published in Forbes, See Change, Nonprofit Business Advisor, Upstartand Grantmakers in Health.
