Project Management Basics

Description

Your boss walks into your office and assigns you a new complex project or asks you to plan the annual volunteer luncheon. Where do you start? What resources -- including funding and staff time -- do you need? And how do you plan this while doing your other work? Learn how to plan and manage projects in this introductory, interactive program that includes conflict management tips. Participants will also learn to balance multiple demands on time while remaining focused.

At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to

  • Budget and plan to manage a project.
  • Troubleshoot problems and avoid common project delays.
  • Provide clear project outcomes and measure success.

Early-Bird Nonprofit Rate (through March 5, 2019): $25
Nonprofit Rate (after March 5, 2019): $35
Market Rate (applies to for-profit agencies): $200 per person

Cancellation Policy

Participants who register for the workshop and do not attend or offer a replacement will be charged a $150 cancellation fee. Participants who cancel their registration on or before 5PM ET on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 will have the fee waived. The Presenter

Marta Brockmeyer, Ph.D., is an independent consultant who specializes in nonprofit planning and partnerships. Her expertise includes mergers, strategic and implementation planning, project management consultation, and succession and governance planning. She has served as a consultant and trainer for 25 years and has written several project-management manuals. 

She received her Ph.D. in Education from Saint Louis University. She earned a Master of Education degree in Counseling from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Missouri State University.

Ohio chemical dependency counselors and prevention specialists: This program has been approved to offer Continuing Education Units(CEU) by the State of Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board. Approved Provider # 50-17807

Certified health education specialists: This program has been approved to offer Continuing Education Contact Hours (CECH) by The National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. Multiple Event Provider # 101535.

After program completion, program attendees who requested CEUs will be emailed a certificate of attendance noting CEUs awarded.
