Join Julia Kyser as she covers the basics of nonprofit finance in a new location: Ivy Tech Community College RIVERFRONT Campus in Lawrenceburg, Indiana*
Many nonprofit executives and board members rise through the ranks from direct service providers or other outside industries and have little or no financial or accounting training and are now expected to prepare, manage or review financial statements, budgets and grant reports. Even those coming from business management typically do not have training in the unique aspects of nonprofit financials and accounting.
This class covers the basics of nonprofit finances, including:
Nonprofit Rate: Costs associated with this class are fully subsidized by Interact for Health for nonprofit agencies. There is no charge to attend this class.
Market Rate (applies to for-profit agencies): $200 per person
Cancellation Policy
Participants who register for the class and do not attend or offer a replacement will be charged a $150 cancellation fee. Participants who cancel their registration on or before 5 p.m. EDT Tuesday Oct. 15, 2019, will have the fee waived. The Presenter – Julia Kyser
Julia Kyser has her own CPA practice performing accounting and consulting services for not-for-profit organizations. She serves as the contract accountant/CFO for approximately 25 organizations performing services ranging from annual to biweekly assistance. Her duties vary by client but include bookkeeping, recording journal entries for items such as payroll and accrual adjustments, month-end reconciliation and closing procedures, financial reporting, grant reporting, audit preparation, budgeting, drafting policies and evaluating internal controls, and communicating with management and board of directors. Prior to this venture, Julia spent 13 years in public accounting, specializing in the nonprofit area. She earned a B.S. in accountancy from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
