The State of Tobacco Use in Northern Kentucky

Monday, Oct. 12, 2020
1-2 p.m.

Virtual event

In the last 50 years, smoking rates across the U.S. have dropped by more than half. But progress lags behind in certain places and among certain groups.

Join Interact for Health online on Oct. 12 as we release “Tobacco Use in Northern Kentucky.” The report takes an in-depth look at local data to understand adult tobacco user behaviors and attitudes, and public opinion about tobacco use.

Highlights of the virtual event include:

  • The release of new NKY data on topics such as tobacco use, secondhand smoke, the community culture of tobacco use and cessation.
  • An overview of local strategies to address tobacco use and secondhand smoke that we know work.
  • A Q&A panel with NKY leaders to share their thoughts about the data and current efforts to address tobacco use with speakers from the Bracken County Health Department, Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and Northern Kentucky Health Department.

The survey report will available online at https://www.interactforhealth.org/about-tobacco-survey/ at the end of the event.

There is no cost to attend, however, registration is required.

Registration closes 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020.

About the Greater Cincinnati Adult Tobacco Survey

"Tobacco Use in Northern Kentucky” shares results of interviews with 705 randomly selected adults residing in nine Northern Kentucky counties (Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen and Pendleton) as part of the broader Greater Cincinnati Adult Tobacco Survey. The survey is a project of Interact for Health and is conducted by the Institute for Policy Research at the University of Cincinnati.
