Habitat Colorado's Annual Legislative Event: Impact Colorado
February 27, 2019
7:30 am- 4 pm

Let's make a lasting impact on Colorado! Habitat for Humanity of Colorado is pleased to host homeowners, board members, volunteers, and staff from across the state for a day of training and advocacy events as we let legislators know the positive impact of Habitat for Humanity and affordable housing.

HFHC is also exploring running the Homeownership Development Tax Credit this year and the Legislative Event provides a great opportunity to share how legislators can help to make a positive impact through supporting these efforts.

We have a full day planned, and will be happy to see you there for some of the events or for all! The day's itinerary is as follows:

Complimentary Coffee for Legislators: 7:30am - 9:00am
Location: Capitol
HFH of Colorado is beginning the day with a friendly reminder to legislators about our lunch later in the day as well as their individual meetings with affiliate staff, volunteers, and homeowners. Complimentary coffee will be provided by Village Roasters.

Cost of Home Training: 9:30am - 11:30pm
Location: University Club of Denver
Habitat International is launching a nationwide advocacy campaign called Cost of Home. Their goal is to have advocacy wins and successful policy change at every level of government, resulting in 10 million people having an affordable place to live. This training will include an overview of what the campaign is, a discussion around the policy sub-themes, and campaign implementation.

Legislative Luncheon: 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Location: University Club of Denver

The lunch agenda will focus on the positive impact of Habitat for Humanity on homeowners, the community and state.  We will also discuss the Homeownership Development Tax Credit.

Legislative Meetings: 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Location: Capitol
Take what you have learned from the training and speak directly to your legislators! 15 minute meetings are being set up. You will receive your meeting agenda during check in that morning, and Habitat will storm the Capitol and  social media with our message!

Event Fee - $25
We invite homeowners as our guests at no cost. Please contact Elizabeth Shultz with the names of the homeowners that are attending.
