FCC Spectrum Incentive Auction: The Details TV Stations Need to Know

Presented by David Oxenford and Jonathan Cohen, Wilkinson Barker Knauer LLP

 Tuesday, August 4
2pm-4pm Eastern

The FCC is moving ahead quickly with its plans to hold the TV incentive auction early in 2016 – with many filing requirements and other changes coming up in the next few months.  Whether a station is considering offering its spectrum in the auction or not, every TV broadcasters needs to be ready for the disruptions that the auction may bring.  Stations may want to continue operation by sharing a post-auction channel, and all stations planning to remain should be thinking about how their channels will fit into the new, smaller TV band.  Furthermore, some routine business discussion may have to be curtailed because of the FCC’s “anti-collusion” rules, which restrict communications between TV licensees during the auction “quiet period.”

These issues are relevant to every full-power and Class A TV station.  We’ll be presenting a webinar at Michigan State University to make some sense of this most complex process.  David Oxenford and Jonathan Cohen of the Washington DC law firm of Wilkinson Barker Knauer LLP will be here to explain the many nuances of the auction process to help you in planning your future.
