2020 CMSM JPIC Gathering

REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE ON FRIDAY, MARCH 6, 2020

Join JPIC promoters from across the country for a national gathering on justice and peace efforts for men's religious institutes. Using the lens of immigration to Identify, Build, and Witness, we will explore what JPIC promoters are doing to create systemic change, while building our national network for collaborative strategic action. While immigration will serve as the lens, we will discuss and learn about a broad range of JPIC issues.  

All CMSM JPIC promoters are welcome. This includes religious and laity who run JPIC offices, sit on JPIC committees, or otherwise support JPIC efforts.  

Topics could include pastoral accompaniment and solidarity, role of religious, engagement with dioceses, spiritual vision of migration, strategic collaborative efforts, and issues that affect migration and migrants (climate change, economic justice, racism, and militarization).  

There will be an optional encounter with migrants and service providers in Juarez, Mexico (across the bridge from El Paso, TX) the morning of Monday March 16^th from about 8:30am-2pm. This will be an optional event with the formal gathering beginning early afternoon in Las Cruces, NM. 

Registration, Lodging and Travel

The Holy Cross Retreat Center offers simple housing. All rooms have private baths. Note there are options for shared or private rooms.  

Registration includes housing for two nights (Mar. 16, 17), all meals, and all program elements.  

Payment is by credit card or check.  If paying by check, please complete and submit form, then print and mail a copy of your check (US dollars payable to CMSM) to CMSM; 7300 Hanover Drive, Suite 304; Greenbelt, MD 20770.

Please note the retreat center is just under 50 miles from the El Paso International Airport. The shuttle could cost up to $60 roundtrip. Some may prefer to rent a car for a group traveling together. CMSM will send out emails in early 2020 asking for participants to share their contact information if they would like to ride-share to the retreat center. 

Cancellation Policy

Refunds will be given for cancellations made by February 14, 2020, less a $100 non-refundable cancellation fee. No refunds will be given after that time.
