Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative and End-of-Life Care (LEAP) Core

Continuing Professional Development - Mainpro-C Workshop

Workshop Date: Tuesday, March 22, 2016 and Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - Toronto

LEAP Core is led by Pallium Canada’s Certified Facilitators who are experienced palliative care clinicians and educators.

Registration: 8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
Workshop: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Program Description:

In an interactive two-day course, Pallium Canada’s LEAP Core offers interprofessional clinicians competency-based palliative care education based on Canadian realities and current best evidence. LEAP Core covers:

  • Being aware
  • Taking ownership
  • Pain management
  • Essential conversations
  • Decision making in palliative care
  • Advance care planning
  • GI symptoms, hydration and nutrition
  • Last days and hours
  • Psychosocial and spiritual care
  • Palliative sedation
  • Grief
  • Useful tools and resources

FEE: $1000.00 plus HST 

Please note that on-site registration will not be permitted. Registration is open to an interprofessional audience (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and social workers) and includes 1-year admission to the Pallium Portal (e-learning and clinical support tools).

CREDITS
This program meets the accreditation criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and is accredited for 13.25 CFPC Mainpro-C Credits.

CANCELLATION POLICY
The OCFP reserves the right to cancel sessions due to unforeseen circumstances or insufficient advance registration. In the event of a cancellation made by the OCFP, a full refund will be given to the registrants. However, the OCFP cannot accept responsibility for out-of-pocket expenses due to cancellation of a session. Cancellations made more than 15 business days prior to the date of the event will be refunded, less a 25% administration fee. No refunds will be provided after this deadline.
