24th Annual Fr. Andrew Charity Golf Tournament & Dinner
Friday, September 13, 2019

I am happy to announce that the Fr. Andrew 24th Annual Charity Golf Tournament and Dinner will be held on September 13, 2019 at Tunxis Country Club in Farmington.  The tournament benefits the many programs of the Franciscan Center for Urban Ministries, a 501(c)3 charity, dedicated to serving the needs of the poor and marginalized in the city of Hartford.

Your support of the Franciscan Center:

  • provides daily sandwiches at the door for those who are hungry, often over 90 people in a day;
  • assists with the provision of bus passes, medical care and support for many who live on the streets of our Capitol City; and
  • offers a setting to host educational forums, lunches, retreat experiences, and community Sundays.

Where a typical tournament engages only its participants (over 200 day of), the Fr. Andrew Tournament is unique in its reach:

  • accessing over 1,700 highly “networked” households living in over 106 zip codes throughout central Connecticut and beyond, and
  • having wide visibility among the often sold-out golf tournament players and over 100 individuals that join the event for dinner and its associated activities.

 We need your support to make this day a success.

 You can help by: becoming a sponsor; advertising in our book; playing; and joining us for dinner.

 I thank you for taking the time to read this letter and ask you to do what you are able to do.  I am especially grateful to our Golf Committee for all the work that makes this day possible.

 Thank you.

Fr. Thomas M. Gallagher, ofm
Director
