Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging Presents:

FORGIVENESS: THE MISSING PEACE

Some people store grudges the way others store recipes” Rabbi Rami

Somehow this sums it all up.  And yet – who among us can claim to not have some of those index cards in a box somewhere? Forgiveness is a subject that has been important to the health and well being of humans since recorded history.  There are many perspectives that forgiveness can be explored from, and this workshop will seek to highlight the power of forgiveness and provide suggestions that can be implemented that will assist professionals and clients to experience the benefits of this journey.  The wisdom and practical guidance that the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous has gleaned will offer a unique and practical beacon for continued exploration.

Objectives:

At the conclusion of the program the participants will be able to:

  • Define forgiveness – what it is and is not
  • Relate the benefits and therapeutic value of forgiveness in their professional and personal lives
  • Identify the harmful and life damaging effects of resentment and anger
  • Identify strategies and techniques for  assisting self and others in practicing  forgiveness, including the 12 Step approach to enable release from resentments

Time: 8:30am – 4:00pm (please join Zoom starting at 8:20am)
