Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging Presents:

BRAIN HEALTH: CURRENT RESEARCH AND CREATING A MEMORY FITNESS PLAN

Memory concerns are prevalent in not only the older adult but complaints have also increased in the younger generations. Current research supports recommendations regarding many areas where possible changes in lifestyle choices may seriously impact a person’s brain health.

Understanding the implications of that research and the keys components for any memory fitness program, healthcare professionals will be able to provide concrete suggestions to their clients and their support systems. Early intervention is essential so that those with memory concerns can seek appropriate treatment to maximize their current quality of life and become empowered to look ahead at needed options/ modifications to maximize functioning, safety and activity engagement.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • Describe the changes in memory with normal aging and beyond.
  • List some of the current research recommendations that have been found to have positive implications for brain health.
  • Discuss a 7-step program for maximizing your memory potential.
  • Provide appropriate research resources as well as options that are appropriate to a person's concerns.

Time: 1pm - 4:30pm (Log in to ZOOM beginning at 12:50pm)
