This optometric continuing education (CE) event offers fourteen (14) hours of Indiana Optometry Board Accepted CE. Approval of courses by states other than Indiana is the responsibility of the attendee. CEE (continuing education with exam) will not be offered at this event.

Description: Perhaps the most significant revolutionary advances in eye care have occurred with posterior segment eye disease. SDOCT continues to find new frontiers with OCT angiography and fundus autofluorescence (FAF) has emerged as an important tool in the management of AMD and occult maculopathies. There are incredible new treatments for wet AMD and we are on the brink of curing dry AMD. Diabetes has reached epidemic proportions and will impact every optometric office. This lecture will take a practical blue collar approach to the latest innovations in the diagnosis and treatment of common retinal disease and what it means to those out in the trenches.

Advanced Diagnosis and Management of Ocular Surface Disease and Tear Dysfunction

Description: Our understanding of the ocular surface has evolved dramatically over the past few years. Growing interest in dry eye and tear dysfunction has increased interest in this practice segment. We apply an evidence-based approach with extensive use of video animation, to integrate novel concepts into a unified perspective of the ocular surface environment with direct practical and clinical diagnostic and therapeutic application. Current therapy is reviewed with specific focus on dogma vs. newer concepts and clinical approaches that contrast traditional palliative therapies to newer approaches that target root causes and functional issues.
