Glaucoma Suspect - When to Diagnose and When to Treat
Austin Lifferth, OD, FAAO, Warsaw, IN
Michael Cymbor, OD, FAAO, State College, PA
Why do some patients continue to be diagnosed with moderate advanced glaucoma? Are there clues to detecting those who are at the highest risk for developing glaucoma? Glaucoma suspect patients represent that diagnostic grey zone between normal patients and early glaucoma...and they should individually be considered guilty until proven innocent. This interactive, clinical course reviews evidence-based clues for earlier detection and more timely diagnosis. - Glaucoma 2 hours IOB and Legend Drug
3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Progressing Glaucoma - When to Manage with Meds, Laser, and Surgery
Austin Lifferth, OD, FAAO, Warsaw, IN
Michael Cymbor, OD, FAAO, State College, PA
Most eye doctors are comfortable with starting a glaucoma patient on a prostaglandin analogue. It may be more difficult to decide the next treatment when a patient progresses on a prostaglandin. This talk will discuss the topical, laser and surgical options available when a practitioner encounters this common crossroad. This talk will address exfoliation and pigmentary glaucoma, as well as narrow angles and normal tension glaucoma. - Glaucoma 2 hours IOB and Legend Drug
All courses are eligible for IOB/legend drug continuing education credit.
Schedule subject to change. Should any scheduling changes be necessary, they will be posted at www.ioa.org.
