The Seattle and Tacoma Districts will be joining together on March 9, 2013, at Kent UMC for a day of education, sharing ideas, getting questions answered, and inspirational new ideas to take back home.
The day leads off with presentations on Engaging the Missional Field and Disciple-Making Systems with two top-notch keynote presenters. Following lunch topical workshops will be offered for Trustees, Church Finances, Staff Parish Committees, Stewardship, a panel of ‘Getting the Generations to Talk’ and much more.
REGISTRATION FEE: $13.00 per person includes lunch, all workshop materials, and (if needed) child care. NOTE: You are responsible for your child's snacks and lunch.
$25.00 for Late Registration and Walk-ins. (Limited workshop materials for late registrations and walk-ins)

WORKSHOPS: The line-up of break-out sessions for the Training Day, as of today, includes:
1:00 – 2:30 pm
1. Lay Servant Ministries (formerly Lay Speaker program)
More than the name has changed. This workshop will focus on these changes and what they mean
for current Lay Speakers as well as the opportunities this ministry offers for all Laypersons.
2. Finance
Help for the Finance Team/Committee.
3. Lay Leaders
Meet the new Conference Lay Leader and join in discussion of what the role of a Lay Leader can be.
4. Staff Pastor Parish Relations
Join the District Superintendents in a lively discussion of the responsibilities of the SPR
Team/Committee.
2:45 – 4:15
1.Trustees
Get help and new tips on what are the responsibilities of the Trustee Team/Committee.
2.Reaching Across the Generations
Join a ‘fishbowl’ panel in a facilitated discussion on how the generations think alike or not!
3.Stewardship and Philanthropy in the Church
Have a dialogue exploring new thoughts and ways to fund raise.
4.Creation Care
Through reflection and learning how to use practical tools learn how to cultivate an awareness of,
and care for, God's broad creation in the life of the church and your own life.
