Is Uncle Sam Your Customer?

The United States government is the world’s largest customer, and they buy just about everything.  If you own a local retail or service-oriented business do you have Uncle Sam as your customer?  What about a small wholesaler or manufacturer; are you selling to the government?  Chances are the answer is “no.”  Most small business owners do not take the time and energy it takes to sell to the government; but those that do find little local competition and some find lucrative contracts.

In Lincoln Countyalone we now house the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Fish & Wildlife, Environmental Protection Agency, US Forest Service, and Bureau of Land Management.  All of these federal agencies buy good and services.  If you want to learn how your business can sell, or provide contractual services to them, you need to attend a FREE seminar in May.

During this Seminar you will learn the minimal requirements to get started, and:

  •          GCAP who we are?  What we do?  How we can assist your business
  •          Where does your company fit?
  •          Required registrations and certifications.
  •          Federal market overview.

On Tuesday, May 8th, Dee Edwards and Marta Clifford from the Government Contracting Assistance Program (GCAP) will be in Newport to provide a 3-hour seminar on The Basic’s of Government Contracting.  This seminar will be held in the Community Room at Oregon Coast Community College from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
