Major General Rodney O. Anderson, United States Army (Retired) - Chair, North Carolina Military Affairs Commission

 

Major General Rodney O. Anderson, US Army (Retired),grew up on a family farm in Elloree, South Carolina, where Christian values, hard work, and the importance of education shaped his life. He is a graduate of Wofford College, with an Economics degree and commission in US Army Field Artillery.

He served for 33 years in the US Army, with four tours in the 82nd Airborne Division. His special assignments include Aide-de-Camp to I Corps and Fort Lewis Commander, and Executive Assistant to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Richard B. Myers. General Anderson served as Deputy Commander-Support, 82D Airborne Division,including a 15- month deployment to Afghanistan where he was responsible for governance, development, and the rule of law. He served as Director of Army Force Management, the Pentagon; and his culminating assignment was as Acting Commander of 18th Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg, for one year during a Corps headquarters deployment. 

Since Army retirement in 2012, General Anderson has participated in several local,regional and North Carolina activities including: CEO of the Fayetteville Regional Chamber; Vice Chair of the Cumberland County Workforce Development Board and current Chair of the North Carolina Military Affairs Commission (NCMAC).
