Please join us Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 in the Golden Eagle Ballroom at California State University, Los Angeles to honor nine individuals who made major contributions to education. The annual Distinguished Educators Award Dinner is a prestigious event that recognizes the professional achievements of highly accomplished educational leaders within our community.

This year, the Distinguished Educator Award will be presented to Dr. Ron Carruth, Ms. Latosha Guy, Ms. Lovelyn Marquez-Prueher, Ms. Kandice McLurkin and Dr. Caprice Young. The Distinguished Community Service Award will be presented to Mr. Fidel Vargas and the Honorable Linda Wah. Finally, the Distinguished Service Award will be presented to Dr. Janet C. Fisher-Hoult and Ms. Sandy Sugiura.

The evening will begin with a reception and silent auction at 5 p.m., followed by the dinner and program at 6 p.m. We invite you to support this event by purchasing dinner tickets and/or purchasing a table of ten. You can also participate in the silent auction by generously bidding on our impressive selection of donations and/or purchasing an advertisement in the event tribute journal. All proceeds will support student scholarships and faculty development in the Charter College of Education. If you interested in donating an item to the Silent Auction, please click on the following link to access the Silent Auction Donation Form.

Individuals and corporations have an added opportunity to be a part of our scholarship program through the purchase of an Endowed Scholarship Circle. This option, in addition to securing a preferred table for ten and a full-page advertisement, immediately establishes an endowed scholarship in the donor’s name.

The Friends of the Charter College of Education is a support group of alumni, educators, and community members whose principal objective is to provide scholarship assistance to students enrolled in the Charter College of Education. The Friends also support the college’s faculty members in their professional development activities.
