Drug Testing 2022: Videoconference on December 13, 2022 

This 90-minute session is the repeat of the videoconference based on the new CPPPH/CSAM guideline, “Drug Testing of Health Care Professionals: What to Test For, When, Why and How.” that was given in September.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Explain the reason why a medical staff may request or require the drug and/or alcohol testing of the members of the medical staff
  • Describe the difference between a screening test and a confirmatory test
  • List 5 analytes included in a health care professionals panel
  • Describe the role of a Medical Review Officer (MRO) and explain why review by an MRO is required

REGISTRATION:

Registration fee is $145 for the first person and a reduced fee for up to two additional persons from the same hospital/institution registering at the same time on this form.

(Registration Fees are processed by PayPal where you can pay via PayPal Account or your credit/debit card. A PayPal account is not required).

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS:

For cancellations received by email to CPPPH1@amgroup.us before December 6, the registration can be transferred to a future program or a full refund can be made. No refunds will be made after December 6.

CME CREDIT from AAFP and CE CREDIT from NAMSS:

The AAFP has reviewed Drug Testing 2022 and deemed it acceptable for up to 1.50 Live AAFP Prescribed credits. Term of Approval is from 12/13/2022 to 12/13/2022. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Note that AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed credit, not as Category 1.

Credit for Medical Staff Services Professionals has been confirmed. NAMSS has approved this program for 1.5 CE Credits.
