Maintaining appropriate boundaries is a crucial element of any relationship, be it with friends, family, coworkers, or clients. However, determining where those boundaries should be drawn and enforcing them can be easier said than done. This training explores what constitutes boundary invasion as it pertains to professional adult/child coaching relationships. Topics that will be discussed include boundary behavior, differences between boundary invasion and grooming, how to address common problems, and how to report concerns. The session ends by stressing the importance of individual policies and procedures as they relate to boundary invasion issues.

While this workshop was specifically designed with school coaches and students in mind, many elements can be universally applied to anyone who works in a professional coaching capacity with children.
