The Biodiversity Crisis
Join us as we kick off our forest health leture series with GMF board member and Forestry and Horticulture Department Head and Chief Scientist at Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, Dr. Jeffrey Ward, for a conversation focusing on threats to our forest ecosystem's biodiversity. Dr. Ward will dive into the effects of high deer densities and invasive plant proliferation on wildflowers and forest regeneration. We will take a look at the links between invasives and risks of exposire to lyme disease. He will discuss management implications of a range of options to control invasives and herbivorie. Don't miss this opportunity to understand how we, as landowners and professionals, can alleviate these stressors to our forests. This event has been approved for 1.0 CEU.
