Lower East Side Events Present...

Matt Tutsky

Matthew Tutsky is enjoying his third season as Principal Harpist for the Boise Philharmonic Orchestra. A graduate of Manhattan School of Music and Juilliard’s Pre College, Matthew has performed numerous solo recitals, chamber music concerts, and orchestral performances in New York City including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, and Symphony Space.

Matthew has performed in a variety of venues including high tea at the Plaza Hotel and St Regis Hotel as well as concerts, operas, and ballets at Mohegan Sun Casinos and The Prince George Ballroom.

A member of the American Harp Society, Matthew was asked to perform an honorarium solo recital. He has performed Handel's Harp Concerto with the Boise Baroque Orchestra. Aside from the Boise Philharmonic, Matthew performs locally with Ballet Idaho, Opera Idaho, and continues to be a permanent sub for Utah Symphony/Utah Opera and the Billings Symphony in Montana.

Musically, Matthew has a broad range of musical interests that stretch from Classical to Contemporary. He is currently working towards producing a CD, including premier works by composers across the USA written for him

Even though Matthew lives out West, he still can't get enough of NYC. There have been many memorable harp moments in NYC. He played for Harry Winston's “Winter Diamond” event while wearing a $250,000 Snow Diamond necklace. He played the harp for a toga themed massage party in the Hamptons. He improvised to club beats for DJ Lina's birthday at 6's & 8's in the Lower East Side. He played Celtic harp with opera singers at the Irish Hunger Memorial in Manhattan, dressed as a fairy, serenading dancing potato people. Played for a deleted scene in a movie, at 4 am, on the street in the East Village, with only 3 hours notice ( fun...no, not really!) Played for a real scene, but “mimed” harp playing in HBO's Mildred Pierce Mini-Series.

Matthew's private harp performance at Tony Powe's speakeasy, 2nd Floor on Clinton, will transport you to music from the 1920's and 1930's, music influenced by the soul of our beloved NYC, and drift you away to music inspired by dreams and nostalgia. There will be superb drinks, a premiered work from a New York Composer, and special guests. Please come and enjoy an intimate salon style harp performance and celebrate our magnificent city.
