The proceeds from this event will benefit a continuum of programs, which serves hundreds of local students with a mission to connect education with exciting marine and maritime career opportunities!
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: The “STEM through Sailing & Boating” program is in partnerships with Eastport/Annapolis elementary schools, Anne Arundel County Adaptive Camp, EYC Junior Sailing camps and with our “Jr Sailing Summer Camp Scholarships” which hosted recipients from Seeds4Success, a local nonprofit.
MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE & TECH TRAINING: Our 10th Annual “Marine & Maritime Career Expo” went virtual this year due to the pandemic. Students could explore career opportunities and internships with business, industry, nonprofits, associations, government agencies and the military as well as educational opportunities with high schools, college and technical training organizations.
HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES: The “Marine & Maritime Scholarships” program awarded $20K for the 2019-2020 school year to ten high school graduates pursuing marine and maritime careers through 4-year college, 2-year college or marine trades technical training programs.
HIGH SCHOOL & COLLEGE: The “Community Grants” program funded summer student internship programs focused on environmental stewardship with both the Back Creek Conservancy (BCC) and the Spa Creek Conservancy (SCC).
