Lauretta K. Murphy is a Member of Miller Johnson, Vice Chair of the Business Section and incoming Chair of the Probate and Estate Planning Section.  She has been practicing law since her graduation from Notre Dame Law School in 1988. Her practice areas include probate and estate planning, business succession planning, trust and estate administration, elder law and special needs trust planning.  Ms. Murphy is listed in the "Best Lawyers in America®" for both elder law and trusts and estates. She is a fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC). She is the past president of the Board of Directors for Disability Advocates, and a member of the Special Needs Alliance and past president of Elder Law of Michigan. She has been named a Michigan "Super Lawyer" for Estate Planning and Probate and is on the Top 50 Women list. Ms. Murphy is a frequent speaker to professionals and community groups on Medicaid, estate planning, wills and trusts, planning to avoid probate, planning for disabled children, estate tax shelters, sophisticated estate planning techniques, elder law and other topics.
