Coventry Village

Telling Our Story

Gateway to the Quiet Corner, and birthplace of Connecticut’s official state hero, Nathan Hale, Coventry is steeped in history, natural beauty, and boasts a thriving arts community.

Coventry Village is an area of impressive architectural and natural beauty, retaining significant cultural assets associated with its 18th and 19th century life as an industrial mill village. The mill ponds, stone dams, and mill remains offer physical evidence of the area’s once vital economic base.

Today, community leaders are engaged in coordinated efforts in sustainability, equity, community well-being, and regional approaches to economic vitality that will position this authentic, small town main street for success.

Join us for a brief presentation and then a walking tour of the village. We will gather for a reception provided by CEDAS and CT Main Street Center. Lite Bites & beverages will provide the backdrop for sharing our thoughts and ideas.

With the quickly changing COVID situation in mind we are tailoring this event for safety. The indoor time will be minimized and optional. Indoor masking is mandatory regardless of vaccine status. The reception will be outside under a tent and catering will be presented in a COVID-friendly manner. The doors to the indoor art space will be open for viewing during the reception as you feel comfortable.

Speakers include:

John Elsesser, Town Manager
Eric Trott, Director of Land Use
