SYSO's Endangered Instruments Program
Side-by-Side Event

10 am - 12:30 pm 

All of the students in Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra (SYSO) Endangered Instruments Program (EIP) are invited to this FREE event.

EIP musicians will first listen to and then perform with SYSO's Debut Symphony Orchestra in University of Washington's Meany Hall. Families and friends are invited to the performances and to enjoy free pizza with all of the musicians afterwards. Casual dress; Concert dress is not required. 

Space is limited. We want to be able to fit everyone on stage and have enough pizza!  Please RSVP by March 1, 2017 to ensure your student's participation in this fun event.

 
   

Side-by-Side Event Schedule

 

10:00  a.m.- 10:15 a.m.  - Endangered Instruments Program student and families check-in.

10:15 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.  - Debut Symphony Orchestra (DSO) mini-performance for EIP students

10:45 a.m.-11:00 a.m. - EIP students join DSO on stage to perform the World Premier of "Variations on a Sea Shanty", newly composed by SYSO Alum Blaire Ziegenhagel.

11:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m. - Side-by-Side performance by DSO and EIP students 

11:30 a.m. -11:45 a.m. - EIP student photos by instrument group

11:45 a.m. -12:30 p.m. - Pizza party. All are welcome!

 

PARENTS: Meet the professional musician coaches who work with your students throughout the year!   And, EIP students attending this event are eligible for a $200 discount off the cost of SYSO's Marrowstone in the City summer program.
